ORM 监管现代化亮点

As we reach the end of the Administration, what we have been able to achieve together is truly remarkable. We’ve streamlined over 35% of the requirements in Virginia regulations and cut over 49% of the words in guidance documents. We’ve significantly expedited the permitting process, with at least 8 agencies having slashed their processing times by 20% or more. We built the first-ever comprehensive permitting dashboard, which has provided an unprecedented level of transparency into the permitting process. And we supercharged our regulatory streamlining efforts by drawing on the capabilities of artificial intelligence to identify redundant or otherwise unnecessary requirements and text.
All told, these reforms save Virginians over $1.4 billion by reducing the cost of bureaucracy.
None of this work has happened in a vacuum, and other states are taking notice. At least four states have adopted regulatory reforms explicitly modeled on the work in Virginia, and several more are considering legislation or executive action that would do the same.
To catalogue all of the great work that has happened and provide a roadmap for future reformers in Virginia and elsewhere, ORM has prepared an End-of-Administration report that highlights major successes, explains how they were achieved, and identifies opportunities for further improvement. You can access a copy here.
In this last Regulatory Modernization Highlights, the ORM staff wishes to thank our friends in the Virginia agencies for their extraordinary partnership these last four years. Your hard work has been critical to achieving these amazing results, and you should all be proud of everything that we’ve accomplished together.
